‘Roadside Romeo’ gearing to tour

Yash Raj Films and Walt Disney Pictures’ ‘Roadside Romeo’ has been selected for the shanghai and seoul film festivals.

Yash Raj Films and Walt Disney Pictures’ Roadside Romeo India’s first fully animated 3D film created on par with Hollywood productions - has been selected for The Shanghai Film Festival in the Panorama Section. One of the largest Film Festivals in East Asia, The Shanghai Film Festival runs from 13th June to 21st June.

The film has also earned a place in The Seoul Film Festival, Korea, in the Invitation Section Out Of Competition. The Seoul Film Festival takes place from 19th August to 25th August.

‘Roadside Romeo’ released worldwide on October 24, 2008. The movie has received immense praise all along and was awarded The Golden Cursor Animation (GCA) Award in 5 categories, the Screen Award for Best Animation Film, the 24 FPS Animation Award for the Best Animation Film and the coveted FICCI BAF Award for the Best Animated Feature Film.

Featuring the voices of Bollywood superstars Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor along with comedian Jaaved Jaffrey as Romeo, Laila and Charlie Anna respectively, the film has been written and directed by the talented Jugal Hansraj. The landmark animations which have made ‘Roadside Romeo’ a treat to watch have been created by Visual Computing Labs (VCL), a division of Tata Elxsi Ltd.

Two names Yash Raj Films and Walt Disney Pictures that are synonymous with quality and success add yet another feather to their caps with the selection of ‘Roadside Romeo’ at The Shanghai Film Festival and The Seoul Film Festival.
